Advancing Blade is led by aviation journalist and publisher Andrew Healey and by PR professional Christopher Wigdor.


Andrew Healey

Andy served in the Royal Navy as a navigating officer and helicopter pilot, before leaving to fly commercially.  He then launched a PR career based on journalism and creative writing for companies within the aerospace industry. 

Andy edited Helicopter World and Defence Helicopter for a number of years and is a published author. He is an established travel writer (Evening Standard/The Guardian) and a regular contributor to Rough Guides.

Christopher Wigdor

Following an accelerated engineering apprenticeship at Jaguar Cars and Business Studies at the City of London Polytechnic, Christopher established a 30+ year career in public relations and related consultancy. He worked for one of the PR world’s oldest practitioners, Carl Byoir & Associates, before co-founding the Kingsgate consultancy.

After Kingsgate’s acquisition by the advertising agency GDA, Christopher left London to set up in private practice.

Rachel Wright

Broadcast Journalist

BBC Trainer

Rachel has worked as a BBC radio and TV reporter and producer for much of the last 20 years, reporting from locations as diverse as Afghanistan, Columbia and Downing Street. In recent years she has produced films for BBC TV's Newsnight. She works as a trainer for BBC employees assigned to conflict zones.  In 2010 she produced much of ITV’s General Election coverage and, in 2012 and 2013, completed BBC assignments in Pakistan and Afghanistan.  Rachel has been a part of our media training team since 2006.
